Description:

Designed to preserve not only the memory of ranching but also the experience, the National Ranching Heritage Center displays 38 restored historical ranch structures on 30 acres of land, ranging from windmills and a blacksmith shop to dugouts, a multi-story ranch home and a cabin furnished out of cactus stalks and mud. Helping to bring visitors back to an earlier era, museum-style displays enhance the center's historical merit as do the many educational programs and special events that take place at the facility. Located on the campus of Texas Tech University, the museum is close to the Museum of Texas Tech University.
